Exhibits are judged in accordance with the RHS Show Handbook. Any C&DHS member wishing to refer to the Handbook may do so from the Show Secretary - Peter Escourt.
Variety names of your entries should be given where possible
Vases and plates will be supplied except where stated
N.B. All judges are independent of the Society.
The Show Schedule holds lots of useful information regarding quantities and maximum points of fruit and veg to the RHS Scale, this can be found on pages 30 & 31. Information relating to the other exhibits can be found in the schedule under the classes.

Points mean prizes
The features considered when judging vegetables or fruit are:
condition, uniformity, size and colour
and for these points are awarded. Not all exhibits will carry the same amount of available points this is dependent on the difficulty in producing a perfect dish, further details can be found in the Handbook and also on pages 30 & 31 of this years schedule.
It is important to read the schedule and ensure you exhibit what is asked, as you will lose points if you exhibit is not as per the schedule
Flowers and ornamental plants are judged by condition and uniformity, however there are other attributes which are or can be considered depending on the exhibit, these could include colour, symmetry, size, and many others. if you are considering exhibiting flowers and you feel you made need some guidance, we have many experienced exhibitors who will be very willing to give you a hand, so please get in touch.

The stalks should be tender, fresh & straight of uniform overall length and weight with good colour. Leaf blades should be trimmed back to approximately 75mm.
